An Introduction

Movies, pictures, talkies, cinema, kino, whatever you want to call them and it, films are and film is, like many forms of art and parts of life, both an individual and a communal experience. An experience defined primarily by watching said stories made from light and sound onscreen – whether that be in the cinema with friends and strangers, at home with family, or on your telephone anywhere alone – it is also nonetheless one that extends well beyond those moments and into further contemplation, conversation, and creation.

A theatre to present and share in-depth content to do with film and cinema, as contributed by students and alumni or anyone else interested, from reviews and essays to shorts and more, it is our hope that this website and virtual publication will, in some small way, help to enhance that experience and discourse. Named after the tragically doomed Inquirer from 1941’s Citizen Kane and just as idealistic in conception, we will see how and where it goes.
